Job Title: Physician Chair

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Chair to lead our Department of Psychiatry. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our psychiatric services, ensuring the highest quality care for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Department of Psychiatry, including strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing team of medical staff members, including physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Champion academic endeavors, including research and education, to advance the field of psychiatry.
  • Ensure the quality of care delivered by the department, including patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Work closely with provider finance services to manage departmental finances and optimize resource allocation.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, sponsorship, and development of members of the medical staff team.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) required.
  • Current (or eligible for) license to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota.
  • Board certified in an ABMS recognized specialty.
  • Minimum 5 years administrative leadership experience at the institution, department, or section level.
  • Must hold or be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota.
