Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cleaning and sanitization procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and patrons.
  • Supervise and train custodial staff to ensure they are following safety protocols and best practices.
  • Coordinate and perform work orders, setup, and support for building events and maintenance projects.
  • Monitor and maintain building and custodial supplies and equipment, submitting orders as necessary.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the maintenance department and building office to ensure effective maintenance and repairs.
  • Develop and implement an effective cleaning program for summer and school year.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or site administrator.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, climb ladders, and perform various types of labor in an eight-hour shift.
  • Low Pressure Boiler license required.
  • Proven ability to read, write, and comprehend operational instructions and write applicable reports.
  • Available for contact in the event of an emergency and ability to work after hours as requested.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and chemicals safety and disposal procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with scheduling and work order system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and confidentially with a diverse group of staff and students.
  • First Aid Card required.

Working Conditions

This is a year-round position (260 days/12 months) with a salary level 4 on the Custodial/Grounds/Warehouse Salary Schedule. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year. Additional benefits may include vacation, sick, personal days, and paid holidays.
