Director Supply Chain Operations Job Summary

The Director of Supply Chain Operations is a critical role at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital, responsible for leading and managing all facility supply chain operations activities. This includes managing the profit and loss of the facility supply chain operations, executing the infrastructure project plan, and managing disaster supplies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage facility supply chain operations activities
  • Manage the profit and loss of the facility supply chain operations
  • Execute the infrastructure project plan for the facility
  • Manage disaster supplies and processes
  • Facilitate the implementation of market-based purchasing projects at the facility
  • Execute the implementation and operational plan for all point-of-use systems
  • Coordinate, manage, and evaluate facility supply chain personnel
  • Create a supportive environment for supply chain staff development and the delivery of supply chain solutions
  • Raise and resolve facility-based supply chain issues and improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate and drive efforts to enable supply improvement initiatives (SII) to succeed within the facility
  • Facilitate the standardization of products and optimize supply utilization through effective collaboration with physicians and clinicians
  • Manage the facility implementation plan, identify and mitigate risks, and monitor resource allocations to ensure successful execution of the plan
  • Execute the supply chain performance measurement plan at the facility and report these results to the supply chain officer leadership in an accurate and timely manner
  • Execute a continuous improvement program for supply chain functions
  • Ensure useful knowledge is captured and promote sharing of information
  • Recommend sufficient numbers of qualified and competent staff
  • Determine staff qualifications and competence
  • Develop and maintain accurate initial and annual competency checklists and initiate completion of initial and annual competency attestation forms
  • Actively seek ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or services delivered
  • Attend in-service presentations and complete mandatory education week, including infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS, and OSHA standards
  • Demonstrate knowledge of occurrence reporting systems and utilize the system to report potential patient safety issues
Operational Responsibilities - Supply Chain OR, as Applicable:
  • Lead and manage facility supply chain OR operations activities
  • Build and maintain strategic working relationships with OR leadership to assist and consult in all supply concerns
  • Collaborate with OR leadership to optimize supply storage, replenishment, and restocking processes
  • Assist OR and supply chain teams with medical information system data cleanup and implementation of HCA best practices for supply item setup and management
  • Build an environment of continuous improvement in supply chain OR processes
  • Collaborate with supply chain DDOR, clinical resource director, OR director, and other key stakeholders on supply chain OR/surgical service initiatives
  • Lead and manage supply chain surgical services staff (when applicable)
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business management, finance, accounting, logistics, supply chain, or healthcare-related focus
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Five years of leadership experience and/or AD program graduate preferred
