The Director of Practice Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating both administrative and clinical functions across multiple healthcare office locations. This position is tasked with establishing operational procedures and standards aimed at enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness. The role includes supervising clinical, nursing, and administrative personnel to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. Additionally, the Director will prepare regular performance metrics and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the project leader to guarantee that process enhancement initiatives are executed within the designated timeline, scope, and objectives.
  • Identify and document optimal practices through process mapping and collaboration across various departments.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to promote documented best practices while collaborating closely with practice leadership to secure support for implementation.
  • Lead the rollout of identified best practices and assess success through established metrics to ensure targeted outcomes are achieved.
  • Work in conjunction with training departments to facilitate staff onboarding programs. Develop training modules related to practice operations to bolster staff capabilities.
  • Assist underperforming practices by evaluating current operations, workflows, and personnel. Collaborate with practice leadership to devise and implement corrective action plans.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in practice operations, exemplifying ideal behaviors and standardizing essential processes.
  • Support the creation of comprehensive reporting packages to enhance performance for Operating Leaders and Executives.
  • Conduct specialized analyses to pinpoint operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to aid in the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing practice operations and improving patient care delivery.
  • Ensure that operational initiatives align with financial constraints and budgetary goals.
  • Manage strategic initiatives alongside cross-functional teams to implement new operational practices while adhering to budget, scope, and schedule requirements.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with corporate administration, market leaders, practice managers, and staff to promote effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success and impact of implemented programs, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Identify and disseminate best practices across the organization to promote continuous improvement and standardization.
  • Oversee project activities including clinical monitoring, data management, statistical analysis, safety oversight, and compliance to ensure proper conduct and timely project completion.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to guide decision-making and foster innovation within the organization.
  • Exhibit exceptional service to internal team members and patients.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, healthcare, finance, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare, emphasizing analysis and program implementation.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • 3+ years in healthcare consulting or investment banking preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with SQL and/or Tableau or similar programs is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets, derive actionable insights, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Proven success in leading and managing complex projects and initiatives.
  • Strong clinical study management skills, including risk assessment and contingency planning.
  • Ability to approach tasks in a highly organized, detailed, and accurate manner.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and work in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, organizational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required by project needs (approximately 25%).
  • Ability to collaborate closely with corporate executives, regional vice presidents, practice leadership, corporate teams, and clinical and administrative staff.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
