Job Title: General Manager

Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the Handyman division of Ace Hardware Home Services in the Austin, TX metro area. This position requires a strong leader who can develop and implement growth strategies for the business, focusing on quality craftsmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute revenue growth and profitability strategies for the business.
  • Oversee daily operations within assigned territories, ensuring top-level customer service.
  • Hire and develop high-performing exempt and non-exempt employees, as well as independent contractors.
  • Partner with marketing teams to drive qualified leads to the business.
  • Responsible for commercial business development and outside sales activities.
  • Maintain relationships with Ace Hardware retailers in assigned territories.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of weekly payroll, including performance bonuses.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lead and develop all levels of the organization, including management positions.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7+ years of construction management experience, with paint management experience a plus.
  • 3+ years of managing an independent contractor model business in the construction industry.
  • 3+ years of managing a company with revenues over $2 million.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in the construction and/or home service industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to display financial acumen and react to trends and seasonal changes.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a company.
