About the Role

Next Move Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Surgical Services unit. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the 24-hour coordination and supervision of the daily operations within the unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Manage daily operations of the unit, including budget and productivity target development, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Staff Development and Management: Provide leadership and promote employee satisfaction through staff development and progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead strategic planning, service development, and resource utilization in collaboration with organizational goals to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and participate in performance improvement initiatives to maintain high levels of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Patient and Family Liaison: Act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and the care team, addressing concerns and problem-solving as needed.
  • Staff Supervision and Education: Supervise staff in adherence to standards of care and provide education as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate patient outcomes and make necessary adjustments to care plans to optimize outcomes.
  • Staff Education and Development: Participate in staff education, multidisciplinary care planning, and ongoing assessment of patient care needs to ensure a high level of patient satisfaction and care.
Requirements
  • Experience: Five years of clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services, with one year of perioperative charge nurse experience.
  • Education and Training: Bachelors degree in nursing or related field, with a strong foundation in leadership and management principles.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Current California Registered Nurse licensure, with current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications (PALS within 6 months of hire).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent Management Experience: Recent experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Certifications and Specializations: CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) or other specialty certification related to Surgical Services.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality improvement processes, and financial management.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, with the ability to lead, delegate, and motivate staff.
  • Problem-Solving and Clinical Judgment: Demonstrated problem-solving, leadership, and clinical judgment skills to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Teaching and Education: Ability to meet teaching needs of patients and their families, with a strong foundation in education and training principles.
