Position: Assistant Property Manager

We are a mission-driven organization focused on enhancing communities through effective property management. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Assistant Property Manager.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and enthusiastic leader with practical experience and a proven track record in managing teams and overseeing daily operations.


Qualifications

Reporting directly to the Property Manager, the successful applicant will excel in a collaborative environment and should possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience with government-assisted and subsidized housing programs is essential.
  • Certification as a Tax Credit Specialist and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in daily operations, maintenance initiatives, marketing strategies, leasing activities, and tenant certifications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer service communication skills are crucial; proficiency in MS-Word, Excel, and Outlook is advantageous, as is familiarity with Yardi software.
  • Ability to collaborate with management, residents, and staff to foster a positive and cohesive community atmosphere.
  • A flexible mindset, positive attitude, team spirit, and eagerness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Property Manager will support the Property Manager by handling various assigned tasks, including:

  • Ensuring compliance with HUD and state housing agency regulations.
  • Establishing and maintaining all necessary regulations to promote resident and employee safety and health.
  • Overseeing the preparation of contracts and ensuring that adequate engineering specifications are included for major repair projects.
  • Maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Assisting in rent collection, processing move-ins/move-outs in the Yardi system, and completing annual and interim household certifications.
  • Collaborating closely with other staff members in the property office and maintenance area.
