Job Description:

The Senior Accountant role at HomeWorks Energy requires an individual with strong accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Reconcile and maintain major balance sheets monthly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
  2. Participate in the audit process, assisting in compiling auditor schedules and providing support to external auditors.
  3. Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to review work for accuracy, identify areas of improvement, and serve as a coach and mentor to other team members.
  4. Conduct research to resolve accounting discrepancies and recommend proper resolutions.
  5. Develop and maintain knowledge of financial systems, including balance sheet accounts, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
  6. Work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure timely completion of monthly close and financial reporting processes.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting accounting operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting or a similar environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results under pressure, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
