Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Alternative Program Staff member at Ogle County. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing supervision and support to at-risk youth in our Alternative to Suspension and Alternative to Expulsion programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily supervision and support to at-risk youth in our Alternative to Suspension and Alternative to Expulsion programs.
  • Facilitate Life Skills Groups to help youth develop essential skills for success.
  • Organize and supervise Public Service Work projects to promote community engagement and responsibility.
  • Assess and assist youth in preparing for the GED exam, maintaining lessons and providing individualized support.
  • Transport youth to and from the program, ensuring safe and timely arrival and departure.
  • Organize and supervise recreation activities to promote physical and mental well-being.
  • Display role-model behavior and maintain strong personal boundaries with youth in the program.
  • Document youth behavior and provide regular updates to the treatment team.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the treatment team and Ogle County Probation.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, and all meetings required by the Director, Clinical Supervisor, and/or Alternative Program Coordinator.
  • Obtain a Substitute Teacher's License from the Illinois State Board of Education, if required for assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a valid Illinois driver's license.
  • Have a good driving record.
  • Be in good physical health.
  • Have no criminal history or convictions, except minor traffic violations.
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Hold at least an Associate's Degree from an accredited college. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working a standard day shift, Monday to Friday. The expected hours are 7:30am-2:00pm, with flexibility to adapt to changing program needs.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $17.00 per hour.
