The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a part-time Program Associate to contribute to our impactful initiatives. This role will report to the Program Coordinator and is essential in supporting the Community Youth Violence Intervention Initiative (CYVII) as well as alternative incarceration programs. The focus will be on providing mentorship to young adults and facilitating community organizing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach and engage with youth in local neighborhoods;
  • Provide mentorship to young individuals affected by community violence;
  • Advocate for youth to connect them with essential resources;
  • Design and implement youth-led community initiatives;
  • Assist in daily program operations and maintain partnerships;
  • Involve youth in community organizing activities and workshops;
  • Participate in violence prevention programs and community gatherings;
  • Represent the organization at city-wide functions;
  • Engage in various training sessions, meetings, and workshops.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree and have knowledge in youth mentorship, violence prevention, and community organizing strategies. Strong written communication and administrative skills are essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of community dynamics and the ability to collaborate with diverse organizations. Experience in restorative justice, youth mentoring, and a commitment to social justice are highly valued.

  • Familiarity with restorative justice principles and conflict resolution is preferred;
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a culturally responsive manner;
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment;
  • Experience with healing-centered approaches;
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) is a plus;
  • Strong dedication to social justice and anti-oppressive practices.

Position Type: Part-time, 20 hours per week.

Compensation: The hourly wage for this position is $35.44 based on a standard 35-hour work week and will be determined by experience.
