The role of the Small Engine Mechanic is crucial for the efficiency of our service department and the overall development of our power equipment sector. This position involves performing high-quality repairs on both customer-owned and company-owned machinery. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities are essential, with minimal supervision required.

As a member of our team in this position, you will...

  • Receive comprehensive training, both on-the-job and online, to achieve certification.
  • Educate customers on the proper maintenance and operation of various equipment, including lawn mowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, and generators.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on small engines.
  • Prepare new equipment for retail.
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of repairs versus replacements.
  • Assist with equipment pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Utilize outstanding problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair power equipment.
  • Use computer systems to locate and order necessary parts.
Requirements

  • Possess knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine operations and components.
