Job Overview:

The Medical Imaging Specialist is dedicated to providing empathetic and appropriate patient care while conducting MRI examinations under the supervision of a physician to aid in the medical evaluation or treatment of injuries.

Responsibilities:
As an Imaging Technician II / CT Technician, your expertise will encompass the following tasks:

- Access, manage, and update patient medical records utilizing the Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System.
- Accurately retrieve patient medical records and input physician orders into patient files.
- Review documentation to ensure ongoing patient care and communicate patient records with ancillary hospital services.

- Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy and HIPAA regulations.
- Adhere to core competencies as outlined by the ARRT Standards of Ethics.
- Educate, interview, screen, and explain imaging and safety protocols to patients regarding the biological effects of radiation and/or magnetic field safety prior to imaging procedures to alleviate anxiety and gain patient cooperation.

- Position patients on the imaging table and utilize immobilization devices as necessary for safety or to achieve optimal views of specified body areas as requested by a physician, following protocols established by a radiologist.
- Administer contrast media orally or intravenously in accordance with radiologist and/or pharmacy guidelines.

- Monitor patients throughout procedures via direct contact, two-way voice communication, or through control room observation using closed-circuit TV screens.
- Implement universal safety precautions, radiation protection measures, and magnetic field education to minimize exposure to patients, self, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or diploma from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training is required.
- Current ARRT certification is mandatory.
- Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain is required.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association is essential.
- Additional certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire. Physical Requirements:

- Continuous need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that necessitate verbal communication and the ability to hear and comprehend spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, especially during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers is required to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision.

- This role includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing necessary information, and preparing medications.
- Expected to lift and utilize a full range of movement to transfer patients, which may include items of varying weights, including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing or pulling gurneys and portable equipment.

- Often required to navigate crowded and busy environments filled with equipment and power cords.
- May be expected to maintain a stationary position for extended periods.
