About the Role

  • Manage the daily operations of multiple data center facilities, ensuring policies, procedures, personnel, and associated systems operate reliably, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Oversee the planning and operational aspects of all company-owned and managed data centers and related facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, local, and federal safety regulations.
  • Manage the planning and project management of all operational-related activities.
  • Monitor, recommend, and initiate changes in the functions performed by onsite personnel and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology to implement a preventative maintenance program based on manufacturers' recommendations and current industry practices.
  • Work alongside the Director of Technology and other executive team members to troubleshoot, analyze processes and procedures, identify weaknesses or deficiencies, and implement improvements.
  • Define, track, and manage operations and cross-functional projects that impact various operational systems.
  • Enhance operational efficiency through collaboration with senior management to improve automation, reduce incidents causing downtime, improve network performance, and bolster company resilience.
  • Develop new techniques to expedite workflows, enhance productivity, and improve operating environments.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and internal departments to drive optimal long-term customer service and business outcomes.
  • Coordinate with other departments to implement controls and schedules, resolve delivery issues, and validate the business, operations, and financial impact of large-scale data center projects.
  • Manage data center-related contracts in collaboration with the executive team, including negotiating terms and rates.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance, including initiating and/or recommending promotions, transfers, and corrective actions.

Competencies

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Experience with monitoring systems and automated software platforms

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in a data center mining operation or a similar field
  • 3 years of experience managing multiple reporting locations with at least 20 direct and indirect reports.
  • Experience with troubleshooting
  • Other combinations of experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
  • Experience with remote reporting
