Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Maintenance & Engineering Lead, the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician offers specialized technical support to the Maintenance & Engineering team at Angelini Pharma US. This role encompasses mechanical, electrical, and automation assistance within a regulated environment.

This position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

The role demands an intermediate to advanced understanding of electrical principles, systems, components, troubleshooting techniques, basic PLC programming, and automation capabilities. The technician is expected to manage various tasks, some of which may be non-routine, requiring sound judgment and interpretation to effectively manufacture and package products.

The technician will conduct preventive maintenance and calibration of plant electrical and control systems, mechanical systems, and instrumentation, necessitating analytical troubleshooting and informed decision-making.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Utilizing technical expertise to provide primary support for power and automation systems, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting; offering recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Addressing production-related electrical and automated equipment issues.
  • Executing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting electrical/control and mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Assisting with the installation and upgrades of new equipment.
  • Installing mechanical and electrical components/wiring systems and ensuring their proper operation.
  • Conducting instrument calibration for the facility.
  • Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) during work execution and operational support.
  • Performing additional tasks and special assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of experience in a technical manufacturing setting.
  • Technical degree in Electrical/Controls or related engineering/technical disciplines.
  • Operational familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety protocols and inspection procedures, as well as proficiency in using electrical testing instruments (e.g., multimeter, clamp-on meter, megger).
  • Intermediate understanding of PLC programming, schematic wiring, ladder logic, and P&ID process diagrams.

  • Ultrasonic sealing technology
  • Basic understanding of facility utility systems (e.g., chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, dust collectors, air handling units).
  • Basic knowledge of converting and packaging equipment operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Plant's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Able to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and logic schematics.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Root Cause Analysis skills (problem identification, analysis, creativity, application of corrective actions).
