Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Technician to join our team at NY CREATES. This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot medium and low voltage electrical systems, fire alarm, security, and HVAC control systems, and transformers.
  • Cut, bend, and install all forms of conduits and raceways, including flexible conduit.
  • Install fusing, circuit breakers, and other forms of current limiting devices.
  • Work with digital multi-meters and meggers, and have a working knowledge of confined space and lock-out tag-out protocol, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations.
  • Work with heating, ventilating, air conditioning, exhaust, and mechanical systems supporting cleanroom and office operations preventive maintenance.
  • Understand related disciplines such as process, waste, and water treatment, automation, and responding to facility alarms.
  • Provide customer satisfaction and support.
  • This is an essential personnel position for the maintenance and operation of the campus during an emergency situation.

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of continuous work as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • A professional appearance and attitude with the ability to conduct work in an independent manner.
  • The ability to work from drawings and diagram electrical circuitry, etc.
  • The ability to work from heights using ladders, scaffolding, JLG, etc., and the use of PPE.
  • Lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
  • Off-shift coverage.
  • Good communication skills and proficient use of Microsoft Office and Maintenance Management programs.
