About the Aerospace Systems Business Area:
This division is dedicated to maintaining superiority in the high ground through extensive threat expertise, encompassing national security, civil space, hypersonics, and cyber systems.

Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will excel in managing and executing the complete capture lifecycle across multiple concurrent pursuits and proposals with government research and development clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, organizing, and executing major capture initiatives, including assembling industry and internal teams, evaluating win probabilities, formulating win strategies, and conducting gap analyses.
  • Collaborating with team members, business development, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to create and implement call plans that enhance Leidos' competitive positioning.
  • Gathering, assessing, and validating customer requirements in close partnership with business development leads, identifying related needs and constraints that influence winning solutions.
  • Crafting value propositions through program strategies, supporting business cases, and project plans, while evolving strategies throughout the capture lifecycle.
  • Mentoring other capture, business development, and operational professionals, contributing to the broader Defense Systems Sector business team.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BA degree with 15+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 13+ years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications include:

  • Proven leadership skills in organizing and executing significant capture activities, including team building and win probability assessment.
  • Familiarity with the Department of Defense and RDT&E community.
  • Experience with federal government budgets, investments, and acquisition processes.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various contract types and payment structures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and business acumen.
  • Confidence and experience engaging with senior executives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support capture efforts.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
A degree in a STEM field, particularly in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics, is preferred. Candidates should also have extensive experience in securing captures with defense and national security agencies, as well as a proven track record of transitioning R&D programs to operational users.

Security Requirements:
Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and possess (or be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance, with a preference for those holding a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
