Job Title: Capture Director

Leidos is seeking an experienced Capture Director to join our team in pursuing profitable growth and winning contracts that lead to programs of record (PORs). As a key member of our Defense Systems Sector, you will be responsible for managing and executing the full capture life-cycle across multiple simultaneous pursuits and proposals with government research and development customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and support other capture, business development, and operations professionals to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with team members, business development leads, and subject matter experts to build and execute call plans to position Leidos for success.
  • Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements to identify related needs and constraints that impact the winning solution.
  • Develop value propositions through program strategies, supporting business cases, and project plans to drive early wins and evolve the strategy throughout the capture lifecycle.
  • Develop, organize, and execute significant capture activities, including building industry and Leidos-internal teams, assessing win probability, and developing win plans/strategies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 13+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Leadership skills to develop, organize, and execute significant capture activities.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense, RDT&E Community, and federal government budgets, investments, and acquisition processes.
  • Demonstrable understanding of all contract types and payment types.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and business acumen.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% per month in support of the capture.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Degree in STEM fields, specifically in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Math.
  • Extensive knowledge, experience, and success in winning captures with defense, national security, and other related agencies.
  • Experience transitioning R&D programs to operational end users.
