Aerodynamics Staff Engineer

The Aerodynamics Staff Engineer will report to the Turbine Aerodynamics Manager and be responsible for leading the design of GE Aviation's next generation of turbine components and associated technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the aerodynamic design and analysis of high- and low-pressure turbine components
- Drive the development of advanced aerodynamic technology to improve engine performance and durability
- Cultivate advanced skills in aerodynamic design, including use of cutting-edge numerical and experimental techniques
- Draw conclusions from component and engine test data to validate aerodynamic designs
- Develop analytical tools/software to improve aerodynamic design and predictive capabilities
- Formulate and execute plans to achieve technical and program requirements
- Develop lean processes to improve organizational productivity and efficiency
- Execute trade studies to meet project requirements, collaborating with horizontal organizations
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft engines or industrial gas turbine products with at least 2 years in turbomachinery aerodynamics
- Desired Characteristics
- Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering relevant to turbomachinery aerodynamics with minimum of 7 years of engineering experience OR Doctorate Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering focused on aerodynamics/compressible flows
- Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or aerodynamic testing techniques
- Proven ability to create and execute strategic vision for product advancement
- Flexible, friendly, and inclusive; comfortable working in multi-disciplinary global teams
- Proven group facilitation and collaboration skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Highly motivated and passionate
- Keen listener and innately driven to succeed
