Leadership Opportunity at Novolex

Novolex is a leading manufacturer of innovative packaging solutions, and we are seeking a skilled Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation, leadership, and management of our manufacturing plant.


Key Responsibilities

This role will involve:

  • Supporting the Plant Manager in the overall management and operations of the plant.
  • Leading and managing a team of operations supervisors to ensure operational excellence and efficiency in production processes.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to optimize plant performance, improve productivity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Providing leadership in setting and achieving operational KPIs and targets, including safety, quality, production efficiency, and cost control.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and high performance within the plant.
  • Mentoring and developing a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and innovation in plant operations.
  • Acting as a strategic partner to the Plant Manager, providing insights, recommendations, and support in driving the plant's overall success.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Proven track record of leadership and people management, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic foresight and ability to think long-term, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities in the industry.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence, cost reduction, and process optimization.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
