Job Summary

The State Controller's Office is seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to serve as an expert resource and staff specialist within the Personnel and Payroll Operations Bureau. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for performing duties associated with the research and resolution of complex payroll disability-related issues, ensuring compliance with Federal and State laws, rules, policies, procedures, and bargaining unit contract provisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff on payroll disability-related matters
  • Research and resolve complex payroll disability issues, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures related to payroll disability
  • Perform data analysis and provide recommendations to improve payroll disability processes
  • Develop and maintain training programs for staff on payroll disability-related topics

Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The option for telework is available.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a strong background in payroll and disability-related issues, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. A bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant work experience are required.
