Aircraft Mechanic II Opportunity at S3, Inc.

S3, Inc. is a rapidly growing woman-owned small business that provides technical, programmatic, and logistic services to the U.S. Department of Defense and other government agencies. We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II to join our team at Vance AFB in Enid, OK.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work on the modification of the T-6A aircraft to install the Automated Backup Oxygen System. As an Aircraft Mechanic II, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty. You will also lead teams through complex aircraft-related tasks and prioritize workloads to meet project schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair aircraft structures and components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  • Interpret technical documentation, such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals, to solve moderate to complex problems.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
  • Require broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Have basic knowledge of electrical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools, such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
  • Work knowledge of technical publications.
  • Occasionally lead teams through more complex aircraft-related tasks and make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • May require specialization in sheet metal, electric work, avionics, or other aircraft systems-related disciplines.
  • Provide own common tools/tool kit.
Qualifications:
  • Two years of aircraft maintenance experience and experience guiding, instructing, and mentoring less experienced technicians.
  • Knowledgeable of corrosion preventative treatments and coatings chemicals.
  • Two years of experience preparing aircraft metal surfaces for application of corrosion preventative treatments and skilled in the application of USAF/DoD authorized treatments coatings that inhibit and prevent corrosion.
  • Aircraft environmental systems and oxygen servicing experience highly desired.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
