Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Aircraft Mechanic II to support our ongoing projects at Vance AFB in Enid, OK. The successful candidate will have a strong background in aircraft maintenance and repair, with experience in modifying aircraft structures and structural components. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize workloads, lead teams, and make entries in aircraft logs and records.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
- Repair and maintain aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
- Solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation, such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
- Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
- Have broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
- Have basic knowledge of electrical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools, such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
- Work knowledge of technical publications.
- Lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks and make entries in aircraft logs and records.
- Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
- May require specialization in sheet metal, electric work, avionics, or other aircraft systems-related disciplines.
- Two (2) years of aircraft maintenance experience, with experience guiding, instructing, and mentoring less experienced technicians.
- Knowledgeable of corrosion preventative treatments and coatings chemicals.
- Two (2) years of experience preparing aircraft metal surfaces for application of corrosion preventative treatments and skilled in the application of USAF/DoD authorized treatments coatings that inhibit and prevent corrosion.
- Aircraft environmental systems and oxygen servicing experience highly desired.
High School diploma or equivalent.
