HR Coordinator

The Children's Workshop Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Rhode Island, is seeking an HR professional to support its daily operations. This role will be based out of Central Falls and involves occasional travel to other school locations.
Key Responsibilities- Recruitment: Assist with recruitment efforts, maintain new hire trackers, submit background screening requests, and conduct reference checks.
- Benefit Administration: Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefit questions and change requests, process enrollment changes, and payroll deduction changes.
- Leave Administration: Handle employee leave requests (FMLA, Workers Comp, Personal Leave), apply company policy and legal requirements, and communicate leave requirements to employees.
- Employee Records: Maintain accurate employee records in Paylocity, process employee status, pay, and deduction changes, and complete information requests from outside parties.
- Employee Engagement: Support the positive workplace culture through internal customer service, monthly service acknowledgements, coordination of new employee orientation programs, and special events.
- 1+ year of Human Resources and/or payroll experience required.
- College coursework or degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and HRIS; Paylocity experience a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize work tasks, attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, judgement, and problem-solving skills.
- Must act with integrity and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality.
- Candidates must pass criminal and DCYF background screenings.
