Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Review Board Specialist to join our team at Bestlogic Staffing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gas turbine design and a proven track record of reviewing and disposing of nonconforming material.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and disposition nonconforming material, including parts deviation requests and waivers from OEMs and the supply base.
  • Ensure that nonconforming parts are appropriately segregated and managed in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Design Authorities to assess part repair requirements or usage parameters.
  • Conduct assessments related to engineering principles such as tolerance stacks, GD&T interpretation, interchangeability, and repair requirements.
  • Maintain Certified MRE status through customer-provided certification.
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Participate in quality control processes, including Corrective Action Boards (CAB), and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BSME/BSAE degree.
  • Experience: 7 years of experience in gas turbine design (aeroengine preferred) with partial MRE certification.
  • Indepth experience with MRB processes and nonconformance management in government-regulated industries (Aerospace & Defense, Medical, Mass Transit).
  • Experience interacting with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) for managing and storing NC data.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with strong knowledge of GD&T and modern manufacturing processes (metal composites).
  • Proven experience in quality assurance processes, including part qualification, nonconforming material disposition, and continuous improvement projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting technical data to customers and regulatory representatives.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with developing and mentoring junior engineers is highly valued.

Work Environment:

  • Office and/or shop floor environments with periodic physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of a computer for technical work, reviewing documents, and managing data.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to travel and work onsite at customer locations as required.
