Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at New York Health. As a Medical Assistant - Patient Intake Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient intakes, accurately recording patient information and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Follow all New York Health policies and procedures, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Collect and process lab specimens, perform venipuncture, flu/covid/strep testing, and other medical procedures as required.
  • Conduct audiometry testing, spirometry, PFTs, nebulizer treatments, urine tests, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Measure and record patients' vital signs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Sterilize medical equipment and instruments, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Provide assistance to physicians during examinations, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Perform venipuncture and point-of-care testing, administering EKGs and other medical procedures as required.
  • Vital Signs, Urocuffs, Urodynamics, PVRs, Bladder Ultrasound, and other diagnostic procedures.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma; at least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Proficient in Word/Excel, with ability to learn new software applications.
