Youth Empowerment Program Coordinator

ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION:
Future Cycle Breakers (FCB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young individuals to overcome the cycle of generational poverty by cultivating strong leaders and entrepreneurs. Our initiatives create an environment that promotes a positive mindset and personal growth, focusing on enhancing self-esteem, discovering individual purpose, and fostering a safe space for sharing experiences. We emphasize the importance of building connections with mentors and peers, valuing oneself, taking calculated risks, and uncovering unique talents.
We are thrilled to expand our programs and are in search of outstanding youth leaders to guide participants through impactful and engaging experiences. Youth Development Program Leaders receive specialized training as part of the FCB Program and play a crucial role in leading their teams. The primary requirement is a genuine passion for motivating and inspiring the younger generation. Leaders are provided with all necessary resources and support, often finding that the rewards of teaching far exceed their contributions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster relationships with co-leads to better serve participating youth.
- Engage in enjoyable activities while serving as a role model for program participants.
- Prepare and oversee weekly lesson plans (curriculum provided by Future Cycle Breakers).
- Collaborate with fellow FCB Program Leaders to ensure effective lesson delivery.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians of program participants.
- Uphold appropriate communication and physical boundaries with participants and staff.
- Report any suspicions of child abuse or neglect to the relevant authorities with guidance from the leadership team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Complete the Youth Development Program Leader registration application.
- Pass a state background check.
- Exhibit excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude and the ability to connect with others.
- Commit to the seasonal schedule, typically during summer months.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively interacting with a diverse range of individuals.
- Maintain confidentiality of participant information and adhere to FCB Program guidelines.
- Possess at least one year of experience working with school-aged children and youth.
- Build effective, trusting relationships with young people and their families while engaging youth in the program.
- Have two years of experience working with vulnerable youth.
