Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and underwrite a diverse Middle Market portfolio.
  • Conduct quarterly analyses of agency performance to identify actionable insights.
  • Apply comprehensive underwriting guidelines to inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrate the ability to underwrite complex business scenarios with minimal oversight.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and governance.
  • Manage agency relationships by developing and executing strategies for new and renewal accounts.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and solution provider to brokers and agents.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Property & Casualty Middle Market underwriting.
  • Proven track record in fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the capability to propose solutions to business challenges.
  • Self-motivated individual with resilience and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a focus on delivering results.

  • Advanced technical knowledge and sound analytical skills.

Work Arrangement:
This role offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement. Candidates residing near our office locations will be expected to work in-office three days a week, while those living further away may work remotely with occasional office visits as needed.

Compensation Details:
The annualized base pay range for this position is $95,120 - $178,680, based on market analysis. Actual compensation may vary based on performance and demonstrated competencies. This base pay is one aspect of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package, which may also include bonuses and recognition programs.
