Position Overview

This role is a full-time opportunity within the Office of Information Technology at the Supreme Court of the United States.


Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing, and managing the Court's Telecom Infrastructure (TI) across various locations.
  • Overseeing the daily operations and optimization of TI, which includes components such as Session Border Controllers (SBC), VoIP Call Manager, and various endpoints.
  • Conducting technical analysis and administration of the TI, ensuring adherence to best practices in security and maintenance.
  • Performing troubleshooting, configuration, testing, and installation of necessary hardware and software.
  • Reacting promptly to resolve issues that may disrupt critical Court functions.
  • Auditing TI against security standards and addressing any discrepancies.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in Telecom Infrastructure, including hands-on knowledge of SBC, VoIP solutions, and network devices.
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, VoIP, and related technologies.
  • Experience in hardware setup, installation, and documentation of changes.
  • Expertise in diagnosing technical faults within a complex Telecom Infrastructure.

Preferred Skills

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with Network Infrastructure components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Relevant certifications like CCNA, CCNP Collaboration, and SCP.

Interpersonal Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication abilities, a calm demeanor under pressure, and the capacity to evaluate and resolve technical challenges effectively.


Educational Background

A degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred, although equivalent experience may be considered.
