Compensation Overview

The salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a wide array of salaries for this role across the country. The actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including the role's scope, complexity, and location; the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience; as well as other employment conditions. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits program also includes eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) division offers management and professional liability, cyber, crime insurance, and surety bonds for businesses of all sizes. The BSI Claim Counsel team is dedicated to conducting thorough investigations, analyses, evaluations, and resolutions of claims to ensure exceptional customer service and optimize claim outcomes. The First-Party Claim Team is responsible for managing first-party claims, including Commercial Crime (Fidelity), Cyber Crime, Kidnap & Ransom, Public Official Bonds, and Identity Fraud/Theft. This team collaborates with various business units, including Private-Non-Profit, Public Companies, Financial Institutions, Insurance Companies, Investment Advisors, and Professional Liability sectors.

What Will You Do?

Adhere to operational policies to analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims of varying severity with moderate supervision from claims management. Prepare and present reports for management that accurately reflect loss development, potential/actual financial exposure, reserve adjustments, coverage issues, and claim and recovery strategies. Obtain and maintain necessary adjusters' licenses. Perform additional duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

A minimum of five years of relevant legal or claims handling experience. Proven ability to navigate conflict and resolve issues with professionalism. Capacity to make informed decisions and negotiate terms within designated authority limits. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate coverage determinations. Strong time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities with attention to detail, data, and analytics. Ability to cultivate and maintain effective collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients, and business partners.

What is a Must Have?

Bachelor's Degree. Juris Doctorate Degree. Properly licensed, registered, or authorized, and in good standing, to practice law in the jurisdiction of employment. At least two years of relevant legal experience.
