Position: Technical Support Specialist
Location: Onsite in East Fishkill, NY

Role Overview:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Adhering to established Service Desk protocols.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to users via phone, in-person, and ticketing systems.
  • Documenting all interactions, tracking and routing issues, and providing detailed resolutions.
  • Monitoring open tickets to ensure timely closure and resolution.
  • Identifying and escalating urgent issues as necessary.
  • Forwarding tier 2 and 3 problems to the relevant teams.
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting a diverse array of hardware and software utilized within the organization.
  • Conducting research on inquiries using available resources.
  • Advising users on appropriate next steps.
  • Collecting metrics on daily, weekly, and monthly requests and tasks.
  • Replacing systems (laptops, desktops, and mobile devices).
  • Acquiring new systems and accessories, logging data into the asset inventory system, and managing local IT equipment inventory. Imaging new systems using automated technologies and updating with necessary drivers and patches.
  • Deploying and maintaining the smartphone fleet.
  • Managing loaner devices.
  • Assisting off-site contractors with hardware maintenance.
  • Traveling between sites to provide support as required.
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting software. Providing data center operational support and assisting with the integration of acquired companies.
Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering or computer science, or a minimum of 2 years of experience in Help Desk or Desk Side Support roles with a high school diploma.
  • Familiarity with Cleanroom protocols and procedures is preferred.
Technical Expertise:
  • Experience in IT infrastructure support, including DSS, multiple workstation operating systems (Windows, Mac), mobile operating systems (Android, iOS), networking, and printing services.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following is advantageous: Active Directory, Group Policies, SCCM, IIS, scripting, server hardware, and Systems Administration/System Engineering Microsoft certification.
  • Understanding of various computer cabling, printers, document scanners, barcode scanners, projection devices, networking, digital and analog telephony, VoIP, and other office technologies.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong listening, verbal communication, customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in a business context. Self-management capabilities.
Communication Proficiency:
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
Effectively engages with both business and technical stakeholders at various levels, including senior management. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of relevant technologies, architectures, processes, and practices.
