Manual Machinist Specialist

**Job Summary**
Columbia Helicopters is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for performing repairs, overhauls, and reworks of aviation parts, tooling, and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual machines, including mills, lathes, grinders, and other machinery to manufacture and repair aviation parts and tooling.
- Operate CNC machines, including a HAAS 3-axis mill, to perform precision machining tasks.
- Perform rework on aviation components, parts, and tooling to meet strict quality and safety standards.
- Change and set cutting tools to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Modify and grind tools as needed to meet specific requirements.
- Work within very tight tolerances to ensure precision and accuracy.
- Study and interpret engineer drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and meet business objectives.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manual machining required.
- Prior machining experience in the aviation industry preferred.
- Experience with manual machines and CNC machines.
- Experience with large jig bore machines is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools appropriate to the assigned tasks.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to work in a shop environment or outdoors locally or in remote locations as needed for customer support.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
