Machinist Technician

The Machinist performs critical repairs, overhauls, and reworks of aviation parts, tooling, and components with precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates manual machines, mills, lathes, grinders, and other machinery with accuracy and speed.
- Operates a CNC machine, utilizing HAAS 3-axis mill and CNC machine expertise.
- Performs rework on aviation components, parts, and tooling with a focus on quality and precision.
- Changes and sets cutting tools with ease and efficiency.
- Modifies and grinds tools as needed to meet specific requirements.
- Works within extremely tight tolerances, ensuring high-quality results.
- Studies and interprets engineer drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to inform machining decisions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manual machining required.
- Prior machining experience in the aviation industry preferred.
- Experience with manual machines and CNC machines.
- Experience with large jig bore machine is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools appropriate to the assigned tasks.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to work in a shop environment or outdoors locally or in remote locations as needed for customer support.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
