The Machinist Technician performs precision repairs, overhauls, and reworks of aviation parts, tooling, and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operates manual machines, including mills, lathes, grinders, and other equipment.
  • Utilizes CNC machines, such as the HAAS 3-axis mill, to perform complex tasks.
  • Reconditions aviation components and tooling to meet strict specifications.
  • Changes and sets cutting tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Modifies and grinds tools as needed to maintain precision.
  • Works within tight tolerances to ensure accurate results.
  • Interprets engineer drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to complete tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manual machining required.
  • Prior experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
  • Experience with manual machines and CNC equipment is essential.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment or outdoors, locally or in remote locations.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
