The Machinist Technician performs precision repairs, overhauls, and reworks of aviation parts, tooling, and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates manual machines, including mills, lathes, grinders, and other equipment.
- Utilizes CNC machines, such as the HAAS 3-axis mill, to perform complex tasks.
- Reconditions aviation components and tooling to meet strict specifications.
- Changes and sets cutting tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Modifies and grinds tools as needed to maintain precision.
- Works within tight tolerances to ensure accurate results.
- Interprets engineer drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to complete tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manual machining required.
- Prior experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
- Experience with manual machines and CNC equipment is essential.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to work in a shop environment or outdoors, locally or in remote locations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
