Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant CWR

Role Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering clinical support to patients under the guidance of healthcare professionals. This position also encompasses administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination and treatment areas, ensuring all necessary supplies and instruments are ready.
- Assist patients in preparing for their appointments and examinations as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Measure and document patients' vital signs accurately in their medical records.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the operation and maintenance of specialized medical equipment.
- Conduct EKGs, pulmonary function tests, audiometry, and other diagnostic tests following established protocols.
- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis, blood alcohol tests, and phlebotomy as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper filing of documentation.
- Support billing and collection processes as necessary.
- Utilize software applications to manage office systems effectively.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and address any related concerns.
- Meet physical demands, including lifting, pushing, and standing for extended periods.
- Adapt care delivery to meet the diverse needs of the patient population, considering factors such as age and cultural background.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, ensuring understanding at their level.
- Adhere to the organizational competencies and standards set by the company.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial screenings via phone and in-person.
- Gather and document comprehensive patient histories.
- Assist with various medical procedures and minor surgeries.
- Apply pharmacological principles for medication preparation and administration.
- Perform medication reconciliation and follow up on test results.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensure routine maintenance of clinical and administrative tools.
- Provide guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage demographic and financial information in electronic systems.
- Facilitate communication between patients and licensed medical practitioners.
- Organize and maintain medical records efficiently.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant healthcare role. BLS and CMA certifications are required.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
Certifications: AHA BLS and one of the following:
- CMANHA (National Health Career Association)
- CMANCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)
- CMAAAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
- RMAAMT (American Medical Technologists)
- RMANAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)
- AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)
- NCMA (National Certification Medical Association)
Required Certifications:
- BLS - AHA
- CMA
