Radiology Technologist Role at Rapides Regional Medical Center

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Job SummaryThis role involves responsible care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation. Key responsibilities include safe handling of equipment and films, assessing patient understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures, and evaluating changes in patient condition during exams.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films.
- Assesses patient's understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures.
- Assesses, evaluates, and informs physician of changes in patient condition during exam.
- Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
- Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
- Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures.
- Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiograms for various examinations.
- Processes x-ray film if a darkroom technician is not available.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- State Registered Radiologic Technician.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
