Job Summary

The Manager, Student Financial Services plays a crucial role in the management of all federal Title IV loan and grant programs. This position ensures the timely and accurate certification and origination, disbursement, and reconciliation of all Title IV funds in compliance with federal regulations and program guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and review ISIR transactions on an ongoing basis.
  • Recalculate eligibility and make appropriate adjustments to the student record, award, and/or disbursement, and communicate changes to the federal or state government as necessary.
  • Collaborate in the design and/or development of functional/technical aspects of the student aid system; assist in updating the collection, tracking, and reporting methods used to analyze data.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director, Student Services Operations in ongoing system development and maintenance of procedure and processing manuals.
  • Advise the Senior Director, Student Services regarding overall programs and operations related to federal and private loan, scholarship, and grant processing.
  • Perform the routine batch processes that record and transfer data between systems; manually enter information when electronic data transfer is not an option.
  • Perform the routine batch processes required for packaging and disbursement of financial aid awards.
  • Perform the routine batch processes required for determining satisfactory academic progress.
  • Responsible for assembling and distributing required reports.
  • Assist with testing of system updates.
  • Oversee data entry operations; develop procedures and manage appropriate records following applicable regulations, policies, and standards; and ensure data integrity.
  • Respond to faculty and student support staff regarding policies and procedures for Financial Aid functions.
  • Adhere to the Financial Aid Code of Conduct.
  • Process Return to Title IV returns.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality concerning all student information.
  • Comply with all aspects of the law school's Customer Service Standards.

  • Service oriented with ability to make all visitors feel welcome.
  • Must have a collaborative approach to working with others.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform multi-tasking duties.
  • Familiarity with federal and state financial aid rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with federal and state software and websites including but not limited to EdConnect, COD, FAA, NSLDS, and HelmNet.
  • Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends, and other times as deemed necessary for overall operation of Financial Aid Office.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Five years of progressive financial aid experience.

Language Skills

Proficient in both spoken and written English. Ability to interpret and explain complex data.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic and intermediate math essentials.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define routine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve routine problems and/or deal with a variety of variables in situations.
