Senior Research and Clinical Faculty Position

Job Summary:
The University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary leader to serve as the Vice-Chair of Research for the Department of Emergency Medicine. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented emergency medicine physician-scientist to join a dynamic and growing department and contribute to the advancement of emergency medicine research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive research strategy for the Department of Emergency Medicine, with a focus on securing external funding and promoting research productivity.
- Collaborate with departmental leadership to advance the department's research agenda and promote a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior faculty members and researchers, fostering a supportive and inclusive research environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions, to secure funding and promote research collaborations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research trends and advancements in emergency medicine, applying this knowledge to inform departmental research priorities and initiatives.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree and completion of residency training in Emergency Medicine.
- Board eligibility or certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Experience in research administration, grant writing, and program development.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record of securing external funding and promoting research productivity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional fellowship training in research, administration, or a related field.
- Experience in academic leadership and faculty development.
- Strong publication record and a demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
