Position Overview:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for conducting preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role involves troubleshooting, servicing, and performing tests and analyses to ensure optimal equipment performance while providing insightful recommendations. A solid understanding of control operations and sequences for HVAC systems is essential. The ideal candidate will maintain organized service records and communicate effectively to assess needs, fostering strong customer relationships and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install replacement components and equipment according to manufacturer specifications to uphold warranties.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on HVACR systems in line with established standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVACR malfunctions in compliance with EPA standards.
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and accurate record-keeping.
  • Document all activities, including inspections, service reports, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in general tasks such as safety training, team meetings, and event setups.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC Apprenticeship Program is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in HVAC or maintenance, specifically with commercial or industrial systems.
  • Preferred: EPA universal refrigeration license.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow safety policies and procedural manuals, as well as write routine reports.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, along with basic mathematical skills for measurements.
  • Capability to read blueprints and technical schematics.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling and feeling. Occasionally, it may involve sitting, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and various environmental conditions. Regular driving of a company vehicle is required.
