Position Primary Purpose and General Duties

The Assistant Director for Student Leadership will play a key role in developing and implementing leadership programs that support the growth and development of our students. This includes supervising student staff, developing and implementing program assessments, and collaborating with campus partners to advance our mission.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in leadership development, student affairs, and program management. They will be able to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff to create a positive and inclusive environment that supports the growth and development of our students.

Minimum Hiring Standards
  • Master's degree in leadership, education, social sciences, or related field
  • Experience with management of leadership development programs and student programming
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of student development theory and practice
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Hiring Standards
  • Experience in evaluation and assessment of programs
  • Experience with teaching undergraduate leadership theory and practice
  • Experience serving as a peer leader as an undergraduate or graduate student
  • Previous experience supervising professional staff
  • Ability to be certified to drive university vehicles
