Job Overview

POSITION TITLE: Paraprofessional

REPORTS TO: Principal

As a Paraprofessional at LEAD Public Schools, you will be instrumental in enhancing the educational experience for students, particularly those with special needs. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities aimed at fostering an inclusive learning environment. This includes supervising students, tracking their progress, executing educational strategies, and addressing healthcare requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Classroom Assistance

  • Support the instruction of students with disabilities under the guidance of a certified educator
  • Collaborate with teachers to prepare educational materials
  • Implement modifications in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP)
  • Assist in supplemental activities and follow-up tasks
  • Facilitate effective communication among staff, students, and parents/guardians
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, educators, and families
  • Encourage student engagement and participation
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Provide support with personal care requirements

Additional Responsibilities

  • Uphold school behavior standards
  • Assist in managing classroom operations
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Possess an associate's degree or higher; OR
  • Have completed 48 credit hours of college coursework; OR
  • Successfully pass the Education Testing Service (ETS) Para-Pro Assessment

Preferred:

  • Relevant job experience
