Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Kemps. As a Fleet Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair services on different types of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repair services on vehicles, including basic vehicle maintenance, component replacements, and minor repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including inspections and repairs, to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot minor mechanical and electronic problems, and perform repairs as required.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Interact with drivers to determine the nature of complaints, and work with other technicians and supervisors to complete tasks and resolve issues.
  • Safety and Compliance: Work in accordance with all federal, state, and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and DOT regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 1 year of experience in transportation maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Mechanic certifications and CDL-A preferred. Refrigeration license preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, and crawl for virtually the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is required.
  • Technical Skills: Must be computer literate, and have experience with engine, ABS, transmission, and other diagnostic equipment and software.
