Job Title: Peer Recovery Specialist

Avivo is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing general recovery support to individuals participating in our intensive outpatient treatment program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, mission-driven services and outcomes in a safe recovery environment.
  • Offer general treatment support and recovery maintenance through Avivo's Multicultural Recovery Coaching Initiative.
  • Demonstrate commitment to SAMSHA's definition of recovery and recovery principles.
  • Actively participate in the division's Trauma Informed Care Initiative and motivational interviewing.
  • Employ a holistic approach, promoting health and wellness activities with participants.
  • Provide transportation to participants, including operation of Avivo van.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with individuals experiencing chemical dependency problems and/or mental health issues.
  • Current credential from the Minnesota Certification Board, the Upper Midwest Indian Council on Addictive Disorders, or the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
  • Completion of Recovery Coach Training and certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) through the Minnesota Certification Board (MCB).
  • Minimum of one year freedom from alcohol and chemical abuse/addiction.
