Job Title: Emerging Leader Recovery Navigator

Recovery Corps is seeking emerging leaders to join our team of Recovery Navigators. As someone who knows what it's like to build a healthy life in recovery, you can help others do the same through mentoring, peer support, and resource navigation.

About the Role

As a Recovery Navigator, you will serve at an organization committed to addressing the growing issue of substance use. You will play a crucial role in addressing the challenges of substance use, empowering individuals to build healthier lives. You will engage in professional development and comprehensive skills-based training to earn additional credentials and certificates.

Responsibilities
  • Work with others to maintain their progress in recovery.
  • Provide mentoring and peer support, leveraging your own recovery experience.
  • Assist clients in navigating social service resources and programs.
  • Participate in training and professional development throughout the year, including the Peer Recovery Support training.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to help build their confidence and skills, while encouraging them to have agency over their own recovery.
  • Gain valuable professional experience while embedded in a local recovery organization.
  • Share your experience with the wider community as a Recovery Corps ambassador.
Requirements
  • In recovery for at least one uninterrupted year from a substance use disorder by the start date.
  • Must not exceed the age of 29 by the start of your service date.
  • Dependable and have a history of good attendance.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed-upon hours commitment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases, and software use, and videoconferencing.
  • Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Able to successfully complete a background check.

While you're making a difference, you'll receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks and additional perks. As an AmeriCorps program, we have both federally provided benefits and program-specific benefits.

  • Up to $ in Education Award.
  • Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment.
  • Time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Program-specific benefits by hours commitment per week:

  • 40 Hours:
    • $1200 stipend paid every two weeks.
    • Individual health insurance - monthly premium 100% covered.
    • Child care assistance - based on family size and income.
  • 25 Hours:
    • $725 stipend paid every two weeks.
