SummaryThe Performance Improvement/Staff Development Manager plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates all activities necessary for an effective performance improvement and staff development program. The scope of responsibility has a primary emphasis on the Nursing Department but additional responsibilities to all other departments in terms of general orientation and corporate wide mandatory in-services. These functions will be accomplished by the use of standards and protocols established by Bethesda Health Group through the use of clinical and organizational skills. This Job will include oversight of the HCBS policy and procedure process, including generating, developing and finalizing P/P. This job will also include oversight of the HCBS QAPI program: including CQI studies, logging results in the computer and involving the team in adjustments.Job Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
BSN or related baccalaureate preparation in education preferred
Current RN license in the state you will be working
CPR certified or willing to obtain within six months of employment
Certified as a CPR instructor highly desirable
Minimum of one year of recent clinical nursing experience required
Educational and supervisory/management experience preferred
Previous experience in long-term care preferred
Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards
Possesses integrity, initiative and loyalty
Must possess good communication skills and demonstrates ability to teach adults
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to lift heavy objects using proper body mechanics
Ability to transfer and move residents who vary with ability
Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary
Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with residents and equipment
Ability to perform necessary written documentation
Good organizational, critical thinking, problem solving and mentoring skills
High degree of ability in using tact, diplomacy and discretion
Must be able to concentrate with frequent interruptions and multiple distractions
Preference for understanding and responding to the physical and psychosocial needs of the geriatric person required
