Job Summary

The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of care provided to trauma patients. Reporting to the Trauma Program Manager, this individual is responsible for identifying performance gaps, developing and implementing action plans, and evaluating their effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the trauma program's performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve trauma patient care and document issues in the trauma registry.
  • Collaborate with the trauma program manager to coordinate performance improvement committees.
  • Ensure compliance with American College of Surgeons, National Trauma Data Standards, and Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement (TOPIC) objectives.
  • Develop quality filters, audits, and case reviews to identify trends and sentinel events.
  • Participate in trauma registry data collection and validation.
  • Implement action plans and monitor their effectiveness through the performance improvement process.
  • Stay up-to-date with professional development and educational activities to enhance skills and knowledge in trauma care and data information systems.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensure.
  • Three years of registered nurse experience in trauma critical care or emergency nursing.
