Position Title: Packaging Training SpecialistPosition Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Burley Grade: Grade 02 Requisition ID: 31684 JOB PURPOSE:The Packaging Lead Training Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation and deployment of the training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our manufacturing packaging personnel in collaboration with the Packaging Lead Trainers and the Packaging Optimization Manager. This position requires a deep understanding of packaging processes, machinery, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for education, and the ability to create engaging and effective training modules.Statement of JobEnsures the competency of the packaging Lead Trainers through guidance and development of the training materials with current packaging equipment and as new technology is introduced to support a robust packaging training program under minimal supervision.Work area will include all packaging areas in all McCain Foods Burley facilities including the palletizing area. Major DutiesTrain, provide guidance, and direct packaging lead trainers in a manner assuring maximum development and utilization of their talents through the continuous improvement concept. Provide hands-on training sessions in collaboration with the Packaging Optimization Manager to ensure that employees are effectively trained to operate machinery safely and efficiently. This includes providing new training materials and instruction to the packaging lead trainers as new equipment and technology is introduced.Assist Lead trainers in teaching technical capability development to employees in new roles.Attends Expos and Conferences pertaining to packaging equipment as new technologies are introduced and collaborates with the Packaging Optimization Manager and the Maintenance Training Supervisor to ensure proper training materials are available as new equipment and technologies are introduced. Monitor the performance of packaging lead trainers and provide constructive feedback for improvement in training. Establish training aids (troubleshooting tools) and track progress to ensure consistency and commitment.Promote job safety and assist lead trainers in training necessary packaging employees in LOTO.May be required to work and/or train during plant shutdowns. Create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, manuals, and hands-on exercises.Develop, maintain and continuously improve training outlines, documentation, SOP based training materials, data, tools, evaluation / assessment materials and processes.Track and maintain training related data. Support and deliver trainings on various initiatives for example: GMP, safety and new hire orientation. Assist packaging lead trainers in facilitating training sessions for new manufacturing packaging employees to familiarize them with company processes, safety protocols, and packaging procedures.Develop and deliver safety training on packaging equipment to promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.Support with continuous improvement programs such as MDI. Emphasize standard work and recipe control to operators and help maintain them (MDI2).Employee ExpectationsPromote Good Manufacturing PracticesPromote safety and food safetyUnderstand the concepts and participate in the techniques of the quality process.Perform other duties and hours as assigned by supervision. Maintain a positive and professional attitude.Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:CCP training/certificationsWorkmanship auditingClassroom trainingLOTO trainingAssisting packaging lead trainers in performing skill assessmentsSpecial RequirementsRequires a high degree of mental skill and a considerable degree of initiative and independence.Prefer a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Packaging Technology, Education) or equivalent work experience.Proven experience in manufacturing packaging, with a strong understanding of packaging processes and machinery.Previous experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a manufacturing setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards.Must be able to effectively communicate to all levels of the operation.Requires considerable care to avoid major product and equipment damage along with major injury to self and others.Requires visual alertness and exposure to loud noise.Requires good decision making skills.Requires a high degree of physical effort and occasionally working in unnatural and awkward positions.Flexibility to work on shift with new employees during their training times to assist the lead trainer.Scope of AuthorityAll employees have the right to question or refuse a work related directive that is unsafe.All employees are expected to take appropriate measures regarding employee, product or equipment safety.The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
