This position has a key role in the Supply Chain function and is responsible for the review, management, development, and reporting of critical analysis on cost of materials and operations as well as performance of commodities markets in accordance with the pricing of manufacturing and distribution of finished goods. Working at the direction of the Corporate Revenue Manager, this role will provide onsite leadership to ensure the cost reporting, procurement and customer pricing operations are meeting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and housekeeping objectives to support the strategic growth initiatives at the plant.RESPONSIBILITIES:Overall responsibility for reporting and maintaining material cost data, sourcing of commodities and development of competitive pricing of finished goods.Build efficient financial models that support competitive pricing, summarize financials, and present recommendations to business unit and senior management.Develop thorough working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, while ensuring a high degree of ERP data accuracy.Report purchasing volume and spend monthly and annually to align with organizational targets.Recommend sourcing strategy for materials and supplies for planned/forecasted operations and develops and reports cost forecasts in accordance with company policies. Track contract balances to plan and maintain filing system for easy review of commodity contracts.Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement, reporting, or pricing functions.Work directly with leadership & peers to ensure supply chain readiness on key initiatives.Anticipate, identify, and resolve supply chain challenges to meet and exceed our customers' expectations.Collaborate closely with product suppliers to build strong and long-lasting relationships. Monitor strategic ordering cycles based on forecasts that meet business needs, provide cost savings, adhere to lead times, and achieve inventory goals.Identify training needs and work with appropriate departments to ensure proper training is developed and provided.Ensure compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), safety and all other published policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Economics, Operations Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or another similar-related field preferred. Years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.Exceptional analytical skills and critical thinking. Must think strategically yet operate collaboratively across functions and departments to gather data and develop fact-based analysis. 5+ years' experience in sourcing, finance, financial reporting/analysis, or accounting is strongly preferred. 3+ years of experience and working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (Sage X3) preferred.Good working knowledge of the consumer goods industry, in particular baking ingredients.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.Entrepreneurial mind-set, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity. Ability to be efficient with limited resources.Strong overall business acumen and creative thinking along with problem-solving and analytical skills knowledge.Organizational agility and resourcefulness, self-starter.Good time management skills and experience working with high volume data.WORK ENVIRONMENT:This job operates in a production plant, shipping/receiving area, and office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
