The Foodservice Region Sales Director is responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic partnerships, and managing customer relationships within the South-Central United States. The successful candidate will oversee a territory comprising Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. This role demands a seasoned professional with a strong background in foodservice sales, particularly in dealings with major distributors like SYSCO, US Foods, PFG, and independent distributors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Execution:Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share within the assigned territory.Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure targets are met.Customer Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including SYSCO, US Foods, PFG, and independent distributors.Serve as the primary point of contact for major customers, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure long-term partnerships.Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing broker sales team to achieve regional sales objectives.Provide ongoing training and support to sales representatives to enhance their skills and effectiveness.Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.Market Analysis and Reporting:Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.Analyze sales data and market insights to make informed business decisions.Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management.Budget Management:Manage the regional sales budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.
Required Skills
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in foodservice sales.Proven track record of success in dealing with major distributors like SYSCO, US Foods, PFG, and independent distributors.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.Skills:Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Strategic thinking with the ability to execute plans effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, sales analytics and CRM software.Culinary experience is a plusPreferred Location: Candidates residing in or willing to relocate to Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX or Oklahoma City, OK are strongly preferred.
