Reports to: Construction Supervisor

Job Location: A portfolio of properties throughout Virginia.


Job Description:

The Inventory and Receiving Specialist will ensure that all construction inventory items are properly ordered, received, identified, and checked for accuracy/quantities, stored, distributed, readily available and accessible in accordance with the renovation inventory cycle.


Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in a related area required.
  • At least one year of renovation experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs regularly without assistance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel and Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license (required), as well as reliable daily transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
  • Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory.
  • Receive, check-in and verify all delivered construction materials.
  • Participate in the unit surveys and inspections to determine necessary renovation materials.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and call-in all trash/dumpster disposals.
  • Communicates with management personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
  • Ensures milestones and goals are met.
  • Ensures adherence to approved budget.
  • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
  • Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of storage yard, containers, dumpsters, etc.
  • Ensures the security of materials are of the upmost priority and containers are closed and locked each day.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
