Job Summary

Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking a highly skilled Inventory and Receiving Specialist to join our team at our Bakery (Freezer) located at 2020 Westmoreland St. This is a 1st shift position reporting 5am - 1:30pm, requiring weekend work as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain positive communications with the 430 Logistics Transportation Departments
  • Maintain positive relationships with departments and delivery drivers
  • Maintain high sanitation standards and follow a daily cleaning schedule
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
  • Meet departure time of transportation, facilitating products throughout the kitchen and Bakery to appropriate departments
  • Ensure raw materials (including packaging materials) are staged and available to the production area and meet food safety and quality standards
  • Apply internal lot codes to all incoming food and packaging cases
  • Assist in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as; manifests, invoices, or orders and verify accuracy
  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of documents
  • Operate machinery when necessary
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable lifting, bending, and handling of materials
  • Report all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor
Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Forklift/ pallet jack experience is preferred
  • 2-3 years of previous Inventory/Receiving experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of safe storing and handling procedures of various foods and chemicals
  • The ability to arrange things in a certain pattern
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and coworkers; and follow safety and chemical guidelines
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as needed for production and/or holidays
